BEACH CLEANUPS

Our Bold Box founders, Olivia Dahan and Kira Cahill have worked in ocean conservation since 2007. In 2016, they founded the Oceana Young Leaders Council, which is a subgroup of Oceana. The Oceana Young Leaders Council hosts Beach Cleanups throughout the year in the Los Angeles and Orange County areas.

An estimated 10 million metric tons of plastic enters the ocean each year. That is equivalent to one garbage truck full of trash being unloaded in our oceans every minute. Our beach cleanups serve to raise awareness and inspire individuals to adopt upstream solutions to stop plastic waste at the source.

• Hat and Sunscreen (recommended)

**We also host corporate sponsored cleanups. The Oceana Young Leaders team will plan and facilitate a company beach cleanup for you and your coworkers.
